Fans were shocked this month as after 20 years, nine albums and thousands of shows, vocalist Jim Lindberg left Pennywise. The band will however continue on, with the remaining three members in search of a new singer.


Former Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil frontman Blake Schwarzenbach has put a fork in his new band

Thorns of Life. The short lived and much buzzed about act leaves behind no studio work, but they do have a successor. Schwarzenbach's new band is forgetters, a band which apparently includes former Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon.

AFI has
unveiled the track listing and cover art for Crash Love. The album's due on September 29th and is the band's first since 2006's Decemberunderground.

Nirvana was in the news a few times this week. The band's debut full length Bleach
is headed for a deluxe reissue on Sub Pop. A plaque in honor of late frontman Kurt Cobain also stirred controversy in his hometown of


Aberdeen, Washington. Town officials aren't happy with the language in the engraved "drugs are bad for you, they will fuck you up" quote.







The Lawrence Arms] have titled their upcoming 7-inch Buttsweat and Tears.

Converge detailed their upcoming full length Axe to Fall, due on October 20th.

Banner Pilot has posted another song from their Fat Wreck debut Collapser, titled
"Skeleton Key."

Broadway Calls streamed their new full length

"Midnight Hour."

Weezer has unveiled their first single from their new album, dubbed
"(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To."

Scranton, PA's Captain, We're Sinking! posted a free download of their new demo online.

This week also brought
new music from Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine.

The lineup for

Riot Fest West includes bands like Screeching Weasel, Dead Milkmen, Adolescents, and Naked Raygun.

Fun Fun Fun Fest adds Fucked Up, and D.R.I. among others.
