"I love being happy. I'm not Precious," actress Gabourey Sidibe croonedcheekily during her monologue as host of this week's "Saturday NightLive," featuring musical guest MGMT.

The Academy Award-nominated star of "Precious: Based on the Novel'Push' by Sapphire" took to the Studio 8H stage to perform adoo-wop-style opening number, making light of the confusion between herand the downtrodden character she portrays in the film. "Movies are notreal life. That's something you should know," she sang, adding, "MariahCarey doesn't have a mustache."

The 26-year-old then sped through a hodgepodge of largely loud-mouthedand irritated characters. She donned dreadlocks to play a Jamaicannurse hawking a heal-thyself manual opposite Kristen Wiig's Suze Orman. She yelled at kids on her front stoop as an elderly, know-it-allneighbor whose daddy used to sell "Wikipedias." And she competed at the"2010 Public Employee of the Year Awards" as a surly St. Louis DMVworker.

Sidibe also teamed up with Andy Samberg, with whom she appeared in promos earlier in theweek, for the Digital Short "Cherry Battle." The pair, clad in Obi-WanKenobi-style getups, spit cherries at each other in slow motion.

Brooklyn-based MGMT performedtwo songs off their recently released sophomore album, Congratulations. First upwas "Flash Delirium," a tune the band released digitally March 9 totease the new album. They followed that up with "Brian Eno," an ode tothe British musician and producer.

"It's kind of a vampire-punk-rock song about finding Brian Eno in likea cathedral in Transylvania," singer Andrew VanWyngarden told New York magazine last year. "He's like adark wizard. We originally asked him to produce the track, but hehadn't heard of us."

The band is currently on tour and will play at May's Sasquatch festival and August'sLollapalooza.

The next new episode of "SNL" airs May 8 with host Betty White and musical guest Jay-Z. The "GoldenGirls" star landed her hosting gig thanks to a fervent Facebookcampaign launched earlier this year encouraging producer Lorne Michaelsto have White on the show.
