Lady Gaga channels a number of fashion influences in her "Alejandro" video — the military, Madonna, religious imagery and even herself — and now the video's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, is providing Gaga's little monsters with a cheat sheet to which designers are responsible for Gaga's decadent, dark looks. In addition to Formichetti, Gaga's team included Eugene Souleiman (hair), Val Garland (makeup) and Anna Trevelyan and Brandon Maxwell (styling).
Here is the fashion rundown, as posted on Formichetti's blog:
The male military outfits were custom-made by Emporio Armani. The Haus of Gaga is responsible for the high-waisted shorts and masks worn by the male dancers as they carry metal body structures by Dinner. The look also includes studded glasses by Kerin Rose and military boots also custom-made by Emporio Armani.
Gaga's steampunk-inspired binocular headpiece is by Nasir Mazhar, and the black, slightly Victorian-style cape was custom-made by the singer's pal, late designer Alexander McQueen.
The male dancer sitting on the bed in the next scene is wearing a studded helmet by Mouton Collet. Gaga's Eva Perón-esque lace outfit was also custom-made by McQueen with a rose headdress custom-made by Philip Treacy for Alexander McQueen.
The singer's much-talked-about red nun outfit is custom-made by Atsuko Kudo, and it's worn with a rosary bead necklace and jewels by Pamela Love. Next up, Gaga wears underwear by Calvin Klein, black heels by Christian Louboutin and stockings by Agent Provocateur. Her male dancers are also in black underwear by Calvin Klein and sport black high heels by Pleaser.
Gaga's Joan of Arc tunic is a rubber piece custom-made by Jaiden rVa James; it's worn with platform shoes by Noritaka Tatehana. Her "Vogue" look includes a black vest by Dolce & Gabbana, black pants by Francesco Scognamiglio and black high heels by Pleaser. She later pairs the Scognamiglio with a gun bra custom-made by David Samuel Menkes.
Gaga also sports a leather jacket by Hussein Chalayan worn with underwear by Rigby & Peller and vintage sunglasses by Versace.
