Green Day's Broadway musical version of American Idiot has won two of the three Tony awards for which it was nominated. The show lost Best Musical to Memphis but won for Best Scenic Design and Best Lighting Design. Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman, director Michael Mayer and star John Gallagher Jr. all worked on 2007's Tony-winning "Spring Awakening."



Green Day also performed live with the cast.
