The MTV Europe Music Awards are always a rather epic time (we're still recovering from last year in Berlin ... those Kaulitz brothers definitely know how to party), and with the 2010 EMAs set to take over Madrid on Sunday, we decided that we had to go back — and we've got the perfect guy to lead us.
AT&T and MTV News are teaming up to send Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta to Madrid to cover the 2010 EMAs. In addition to being a totally sweet bro who loves to party (and who somehow gets mentioned in the same article as Bill Clinton), Saporta, who's Uruguayan, also speaks Spanish. It's a pretty big deal ... we even got him one of those old-school fedoras with the little "press" tag tucked into the hatband and everything.
In the days leading up to the big show, he'll be darting across Spain's capital city, checking out the biggest and baddest EMA pre-parties and talking to some of your favorite artists: EMA performers include Katy Perry, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, B.o.B and Hayley Williams, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars and the Kings of Leon. And then, during the EMAs, he'll be holding down MTV News' spot on the red carpet, too. It's a big job, but we're confident Gabe can handle it. He's a professional, after all.
Starting on Wednesday — and continuing throughout the weekend — you can follow Saporta's updates from Madrid on his Twitter page.
The 2010 EMAs will air on MTV2 on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, and an edited, performance-heavy version will be broadcast Friday, November 12, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
