Can't figure out what to buy your favorite The Slackers fan for Christmas? The band has got you covered with a new 7-inch due out December 7, 2010. The veteran ska outfit will be covering U2's 1983 classic, "New Years Day" from War on the A-Side and a dub version of the same on the flipside.

In related news, the band is celebrating their 20th anniversary and band member Dave Hillyard had this to say:

We are gonna be getting some new material together as the year ends. A covers project for whatevski is in the works.
And speaking of tunes, as our 20th anniversary is coming up, we are going to be releasing a slackers 'greatest hits' retrospective album!

The band last released The Great Rock-Steady Swindle in 2010.
