Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. I'm Brittany Strummer and I'll be your guide through some of the juiciest, most popular and otherwise noteworthy stories from the last seven days. Remember, every Punknews story is built from tips from our wonderful, good-looking readers, so get to submitting. Here's what got the strange, slow and old community talking this week:

To get you stoked for The Fest 11 we did live Q&A's with Chris Farren of Fake Problems, Jeff Rosenstock of Bomb the Music Industry!, Todd Congelliere of Toys That Kill, and Russ Rankin of Good Riddance and Only Crime.
We also brought you 11 under the radar bands to watch at the Fest 11.

Green Day frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, sought out treatment for substance abuse after throwing a tantrum at the iHeart Radio Festival. Trevor Dunn of The Melvins had some not so kind words for Armstrong in response to the controversy.

Alkaline Trio entered the Blasting Room with The Descendents' Bill Stevenson to begin recording the follow up to 2010's
This Addiction

.

Elway were robbed and arrested in Europe and lived to tell the tale.

Members of Rage Against The Machine, Rise Against, and System of a Down released the song, "We are the 99 Percent".

New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert launched his new record label, Violently Happy Records.

With that, we hand over this Sunday evening to the Punknews community, where anything is possible, from the next amusing-then-overwrought meme, to the creation of bands and message boards, to alienating sports chatter. So talk amongst yourselves, spin some tracks in the Navel Gazing turntable.fm room and we'll see you Monday morning.
