iTunes has launched a subscription series for Depeche Mode. the subscription provides singles, videos and other material in the lead up to the album's official release. While this is new for iTunes, it is not that unusual for independent music. NOFX launched a single series leading to Wolves in Wolves' Clothing, Mission of Burma launched a series of vinyl singles in the weeks leading up to The Obliterati and Bouncing Souls are currently releasing a single a month which will presumably be collected at some point in the future.
