Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I'm Adam White and I'll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week...

The People Must Have Something Good To Read On A Sunday

This week's most popular stories

Fans were shocked this week to see a break in the ranks of popular punk act Against Me!. Drummer Warren Oakes has left the band, in a decision he called "mutual" and "amicable" to run a Mexican restaurant in the band's hometown of Gainesville, FL.

Recent comments from Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler Zavala have hinted that members of At The Drive-In may have reconciled their differences, however Jim Ward, who moved on to play in Sparta and Sleepercar seemed less than enthusiastic about addressing reunion talk.

The Fest, which has become one of the most important punk rock events of the year, is set to return for it's 8th year from October 30th to November 1st. More than 200 bands are expected to participate.

Punknews favourites Paint It Black have announced that Fat Wreck Chords will release the band's second 7" of the summer in August. The group previewed the song "Salem" from the first disc, set for release next week on Bridge Nine.

The Casualties have set a release date for their eighth album We Are All We Have. Drummer Mark Eggers called it the band's "most diverse album" yet.

Pinhead Gunpowder detailed their upcoming
greatest hits compilation "Kick Over The Traces."

Victory Records will release the next record from Iowa based

Destrophy.

A tribute to Atom And His Package has been announced, with bands like
Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, MC Chris, and MC Lars involved.

Gaslight Anthem
confirmed dates for their headlining tour. The group will be joined by Murder By Death on all shows and will feature the Loved Ones, Frank Turner, Jesse Malin and Broadway Calls on select dates.

Rx Bandits and Dredg also announced a portion of their summer tour.

The Get Up Kids detailed their retunion tour, which includes shows in Europe and the UK in August and September, followed by shows in the US in September and October.

This week you could preview

"Carry the Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite" featuring songs from the Ergs, Static Radio NJ, This Is Hell and No Trigger among others.

Brody Dalle's new band Spinnerette also debuted their new single
"Baptized By Fire"

Finally this week saw more video of Blink-182 reunion performances. The popular three piece performed
"Dammit" and "What's My Age Again?" on Jimmy Kimmel and "The Rock Show
"
live on the Daily Habit.
